Class suspensions for Thursday, May 9, 2024
Face-to-face classes in some areas for Thursday, May 9, 2024 have been suspended due to extreme heat conditions.
Schools in these areas have been advised to shift to asynchronous classes or alternative learning modalities.
In the areas where private schools are not specified, the suspension of in-person classes is left to the discretion of school authorities.
Metro Manila
- Caloocan City - morning classes, kinder to senior high school, public (afternoon classes adjusted, to be held face-to-face from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
- Pasay City - all levels, public and private
Provinces
- Bulacan - all levels, public and private from May 8 until a new directive is issued (Memorandum DRF-05072024-217)
Cities and municipalities
- Angeles City - all levels, public and private
- Indang, Cavite - pre-school to senior high school, public (until May 10)
- Sta. Rosa, Laguna - elementary to high school, public (until May 10)
- Umingan, Pangasinan - afternoon classes for pre-school to senior high school, public (until May 31)
Quezon City, which earlier today posted its usual notification that a heat index of 40°C or above would mean the automatic suspension of face-to-face public school classes, later posted an update saying that it has made changes to the face-to face class schedules for public schools in the city.
