Class suspensions for Friday, May 17, 2024

Face-to-face classes in some areas for Friday, May 17, 2024 have been suspended due to extreme heat conditions.

Schools in these areas have been advised to shift to asynchronous classes or alternative learning modalities.

In the areas where private schools are not specified, the suspension of in-person classes is left to the discretion of school authorities.

Metro Manila

• Malabon City - public schools
• Muntinlupa City - blended learning modality for kinder to Grade 12, public (refer to school's instructions)
• Pasay City - all levels, public and private (May 17-18)
• Valenzuela City - heat index forecast to reach 42°C; face-to-face classes are automatically suspended for kinder to senior high school, public and private, when heat index reaches 42°C

Provinces

• Bulacan - all levels, public (from May 13 until a new directive is issued, per Memorandum  DRF-05112024-221)

Cities and municipalities

• Angeles City - all levels, public and private
• Binmaley, Pangasinan - afternoon classes, preschool to senior high school, public and private (May 16-28)
• Iloilo City - all levels, public and private
• Tanza, Cavite - afternoon classes for kinder to Grade 12, public
• Tuguegarao, Cagayan - afternoon classes in preschool to senior high, public
• Umingan, Pangasinan - afternoon classes for preschool to senior high school, public (until May 31)
