QC: Alternative learning modes for public schools on April 7, 2025 due to heat
The Quezon City government on Sunday announced that some adjustments will be made to class schedules in public schools for Monday, April 7, 2025 due to the forecast high heat index.
In a social media post, the local government said that its iRISE-UP program forecast a heat index of 41°C in the city on Monday.
As a result, the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO) recommended the alternative modes of learning—synchronous/asynchronous; limited face-to-face classes; or shortened classes—for public schools on Monday, including child development centers, kindergarten, Grades 1-12, and Alternative Learning System classes.
"Ipinauubaya naman sa mga pribadong paaralan at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) ang pagpapasya sa paggamit ng alternatibong pamamaraan ng pag-aaral dahil sa matinding init," it added.
(It is up to private schools and higher education institution to decide whether to use alternative modes of learning due to the heat.)
