Shuvee Etrata on being real, professional with a bigger platform: 'What I've learned is to think more'

For Shuvee Etrata, being authentic and professional means staying true to herself while also recognizing the responsibility that comes with having a bigger platform

During the media conference for their upcoming digital series “From Vlog to Love,” Shuvee was asked if it was difficult for a public figure like her to stay genuine while being constantly in front of the camera.

Per the Sparkle star, she is fortunate that people already know her beyond the image she presents on television.

“I think there's a fine line [between] being real and being professional,” Shuvee admitted.

She pointed to her experience as a housemate on “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 1.0,” where viewers got to see different sides of her personality and daily routine.

“I really got lucky that people already saw me. They've watched me on the reality show, they've seen my tendencies, they've seen my personality, they've seen how I wake up. They've seen me in almost everything. They watched me 24/7 on PBB, so there's nothing for me to hide,” she said in a mix of Filipino and English.

However, Shuvee admitted that having a bigger platform has made her more conscious of her words and actions.

"I have more responsibility now because there are more people watching. So now, maybe what I've learned is to think more," she said.

"Before, the person didn’t think before talking, just talked. So now, I learned how to step back and look at the bigger picture. Actually, take your time to think before you do anything.”

From Vlog To Love” premieres September 18 on the GMA Network YouTube Channel.

Aside from “From Vlog To Love,” Shuvee and Anthony will also star in the Kapuso program “Barangay Love Stories.” It will premiere on GMA Network on September 12, 4 p.m.
