Nadine Lustre on collab with Apl.de.Ap for 'Donuts': 'A little surreal'

Nadine Lustre has collaborated with Apl.de.Ap for her new single, "Donuts."

On Instagram, the actress shared photos with the Filipino-American singer-rapper taken during the music video shoot for the new track.

"A little surreal making music with a legend," Nadine said in the caption.

"Let's go president!" Apl.de.Ap commented on one of her posts about the project.

In the "Donuts" music video, Nadine channeled princess-warrior energy, while the lyrics talk about confidence, independence, and not letting other people's opinions define who you are.

Apl.de.Ap takes over for the rap part of the song, singing about Filipino pride with references to Lapulapu and Ferdinand Magellan's encounter in the Battle of Mactan in 1521.

In August, Apl.de.Ap partnered with GMA Music for a three-track EP.

Among the tracks included in the project is a song Apl.de.Ap recorded with Filipino rock icon Bamboo called "Why."

Meanwhile, Nadine currently stars with Alden Richards in the Viu series "Love, Siargao," which will premiere on GMA Network on September 28.
