Gabbi Garcia addresses misconception that she got into GMA through connections
Gabbi Garcia addressed the past misconception that she got into GMA Network through connections.
On Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the Kapuso It Girl shared that many people would think she had connections because she "popped out of nowhere."
"So people thought I was this person's child, or people were saying I got in because I was the child of a celebrity or the child of a boss, but that's not true at all," she said in a mix of FIlipino and English.
"I really lined up, went back for callbacks, auditions. I did everything. I really did the whole process of being an artista and I was just lucky that the right projects were given to me and eventually I was able to earn a spot in GMA." Filipino
Gabbi also looked back on her early beginnings, noting that she auditioned for "Starstruck Kids" and "Pinoy Big Brother," both of which rejected her.
"Looking back now, it's such a full circle moment. Imagine, I auditioned for 'PBB,' I became the host. I auditioned for 'Starstruck Kids' and now I'm in GMA, so things are really just meant for you in the future. You just have to be patient," she said.
According to Gabbi, her parents never forced her to audition for anything, and that the decision was entirely her own. Her parents also never made a big deal out of her rejections.
"It's always 'it's okay, you had fun, you made friends.' I always viewed it like that. I took away many good things out of it, like good experiences, good friendships, so it made me even wanna join more contests," she shared.
Her humble journey into becoming an artista is also why se makes a good addition to "The Voice Kids" as its journey host.
"I'm blessed to be able to share my own experiences with our kiddie talents," she said.
Gabbi is currently part of "The Voice Kids Philippines" as its journey host. It airs every Sunday at 7 p.m. on GMA Network.
She was also among the hosts of the two seasons of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition."
