Grace Lee denies revealing 'date' with PNoy

GMA Network host Grace Lee on Friday denied that she was the one who revealed to the media her alleged date with President Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III.   “Huwag po muna kayong maniwala sa lahat ng nababasa ninyo lalo na ‘pag ang article na yun ang sinasabi ay si Grace Lee ang nagsabi or according to her. Wala pa akong nirerelease na statements and I have never spoken of him [PNoy] publicly yet,” Lee said on GMA News TV's "Balitanghali" on Friday. “You know, I have the highest respects for the President and I respect his privacy. I leave it up to him to speak on the matter. Pagkatapos na lang siguro kung mayroon man akong kailangang iklaro sasabihin ko rin here at GMA and GMA News TV only,” added, Lee, 28, a Korean who speaks Tagalog and Cebuano fluently.   Lee neither confirmed nor denied dating the president, saying it is up to Aquino to comment on the issue.    “[The] best thing to do now ay abangan na lang nila [kung] ano ang sasabihin ni President,” Lee said. Meanwhile, Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda refused to comment on the 51-year-old bachelor President's lovelife.

"We do not comment on private matters of the President. So we cannot comment on that. You can ask me everytime but you know our position on that matter," Lacierda said. Aquino, in December last year, said settling down was not his priority. 'Yes, we dated' A report of the Philippine Star on Friday claimed that Lee had been "telling her colleagues that Aquino, a 51-year-old bachelor, is her textmate, and that the President tries to visit her if he has time." The report quoted disc jockey Mo Twister as having said on Twitter: “Just asked Grace Lee if it’s true that she had dinner with President Aquino. She said she did.”

The Philippine Star noted that Aquino described Lee as "gwapa" (beautiful) when he inaugurated the KEPCO-SPC power plant in Cebu in mid-2011, an event hosted by Lee.

The report quoted Aquino as having said in Filipino: “It won’t be hard to invite us to Cebu. I even mistook the Korean Grace Lee for a Filipina. Even the Koreans who visit our country are beautiful. Maybe we should revive the Malacañang sa Sugbu because we might meet our fate here.”
