Family of Mommy Dionisia's boyfriend Michael OK with their relationship

 

 

The Iloilo-based family of Michael Yamson, the boyfriend of Dionesia Pacquiao, has no objection to the May-December romance of the couple.

 

Relatives of Michael Yamson said they were first surprised over his relationship with the mother of Filipino fight icon Manny Pacquiao, but eventually accepted it, GMA Iloilo's Enrico Surita Jr. reported.

 

Even neighbors of the Yamsons in Purok 3 in Barangay Botongon in Estancia town in Iloilo are excited over the prospect of Mommy D visiting them.

 

"Hindi nga ako makapaniwala. Sabi ko, kung yan ang kapalaran mo, okay naman ako. Parang masaya naman kami dahil sa dinami-dami pa ba naman ng tao sa Pilipinas, siya ang napili," said Yamson's father Felicito, 68.

 

Yamson's mother Melinda, 67, added Mommy D - only two years her junior - would call her every night and ask her if she would accept her as a daughter-in-law.

 

"Sabi niya, Nanay, matatanggap mo rin kaya ako bilang asawa ni honey, kasi yun ang tawagan nila. Sagot ko, may mga sarili na kayong desisyon, gayundin ang anak ko," she said.

 

Michael's sibling Me-An noted the pair met at a videoke bar. "Siyempre, nagulat kami dahil hindi naming sukat inakala sa dinami-dami ba naman ng tao sa Pilipinas, ang kapatid ko pa ang kanyang napusuan na una niya pa lang nakita sa videoke bar. Doon nagsimula ang lahat."

 

The GMA Iloilo report said Michael and Mommy D first met when at an eatery where Michael was singing. Mrs. Pacquiao would then frequently call up the family.

 

It said that when Melinda got sick and Michael kept it from Mrs. Pacquiao, Mommy D scolded him and sent assistance to Melinda. — Joel Locsin/JST, GMA News
