What Chiz said before about marrying Heart: 'Sana bago mag-2016, matanda na ako'

Chiz Escudero has yet to issue a statement about his engagement to girlfriend Heart Evangelista on Saturday night, but the move comes as little surprise as the senator has spoken openly about marrying the actress in the past.

Last March, Chiz answered questions from reporters about the possibility of getting married.

"Hindi ho tulad nina Vice President (Jejomar) Binay at Sen. (Alan Peter) Cayetano, mas may pinaghahandaan po ako pero bago mag-2016, hindi sa 2016," Escudero said when asked if he will get married before the election year.
 
"Sana bago (mag-2016), matanda na ako," he added.

In another interview last May, Chiz talked about wedding plans anew.

"Hindi naman namin itatago 'yun at hindi kami magsisinungaling tungkol doon. Hindi ko rin naman ipagyayabang or uunahan kung wala pa talaga," the senator said.

When asked is a wedding will happen by 2015, Chiz replied: "Sana. Sana." — JST, GMA News
