Why Lauren Young doesn't want to be a beauty queen like sister Megan

With Megan Young about to wrap up her reign as Miss World, people are continuing to ask her younger sister Lauren about possibly following suit.

 

But Lauren said in a recent interview on "The Tim Yap Show" that she's not interested in going for the tiara.

 

"I want people to understand that just because my sister does it doesn’t mean I also have to do it also," said the Kapuso star.

 

Lauren revealed that from the start, theater was her first love, while Megan was really into beauty pageants.

 

"We’re both different people; we both want to do different things with our lives and career. I am really, really proud of her," said Lauren.

 

Growing acclaim

 

In her ninth year in showbiz, Lauren is steadily growing as an actress.

 

"I don’t want to limit myself to one character because it helps me grow not just as an artist but also as a person," she said.

 

Veteran actress Jaclyn Jose recently paid Lauren a compliment, calling the budding star one of the best actresses of this generation.

 

"I consider Ms. Jaclyn one of my mentors and it's an honor," said Lauren. — JST, GMA News
