Eugene Domingo surprised by response to 'love team' with Jose Manalo

From day one’s hilarious exchange of jokes, the laughter turned to teasing and bloomed to a chemistry that became a hit and is now loved by many Filipinos today. 

 

Eugene, herself, was surprised on how well the love team was received by fans.

 

“Nagulat ako! Gulat na gulat! Parang one day, 'Ha? Talaga? Eh di sige! Thank you! Bongga!'” she admitted. 

 

When asked what she think was the secret of their chemistry, she simply answered, “Ganun talaga siguro. It’s just magic! I’m very happy na nakita niyo ‘yun [chemistry].” 

 

She also jokingly added that it was impossible for her to see the connection at first since she has already been partnered to a number of leading men.

 

“Kasi for so many films ang kasama ko mga gwapo, mga hunks, mga bata, mga makikinis, yung mga opposite! ‘Di ba? Tapos ayun, biglang [dumating] si Jose Manalo,” she shared, laughing.

 

Although hilarious, Eugene was still thankful for the magic that Jose brought to her career.

 

“Sabi ko nga, binigyan niya [Jose] ng bagong kulay 'yung career ko. Imagine? Nag-click talaga! Sometimes meron talagang mga bagay na hindi maipaliwanag at hindi ine-expect pero patok!” she said.
