Kris admits James not at fault in Bimby communion issue
Days before Bimby's first communion, Kris Aquino turned to social media to call out her ex-husband James Yap for his "lack of initiative" as a father to their son.
In an Instagram post, the television host said she invited the professional cager to Bimby's first communion but received no response at all.
"Tuesday was the rehearsal & 1st Confession, Bimb's actual 1st Communion is on Thursday, November 26. (I prayed a lot today, weighing sharing the whole truth vs. keeping quiet but fearing that Bimb & I will again be put in a bad light. I'm choosing to share just the simple facts but not posting screen grabs of texts that could come across as pinamukha ko pa ang pagsisinungaling..." she wrote.
She added that she sent two text messages to Yap while she was on vacation in Hawaii, but received no reply.
"The reason for this post is simple, sana matauhan sya that he's missing out on being a father to such a good boy. And it's sad that there is no effort for this kind hearted & generous boy from the other person in this world who should want to be a part of his life."
Yap, however, showed up to attend the ceremony on Thursday.
Having the chance to talk to each other about the no-reply, Aquino cleared up the misunderstanding in another Instagram post, where she admitted that Yap was not at fault. The PBA player apparently replied to her text message, but she did not receive it while on vacation
"The TRUE STORY: nagkausap kami ni James, and I showed him my phone w/ no reply, and he showed me his where he replied- October 31 after I sent my 2nd text. It could be that I am using an iPhone & his was Samsung. I was using iMessage, my roaming was on but I turned off data roaming on that phone and relied on wifi," she wrote.
"I checked my messages in settings & SEND AS SMS was ON. The text invitation was sent Oct 31 while we were in Hawaii... It is hard to be an ex couple, but for the love of a child, we just have to set aside differences & work on mutual respect. Patience & Effort lang talaga."
