Gloc-9 defends self from bashers, says performance at Binay rally just a job
Rapper Aristotle Pollisco, better known by his stage name Gloc-9, broke his silence on his controversial performance at the proclamation rally of United Nationalist Alliance mayoralty candidate Abigail Binay last Monday.
Responding to bashers, Pollisco explained that his appearance at the rally was a regular gig he accepted as a performer-for-hire.
"TRABAHO LANG ITO dahil ITO LAMANG NAMAN PO ANG TRABAHO KO," Pollisco wrote in his Facebook page.
"Hindi po ito hobby na naging trabaho, ito po ay isang pangarap na ipinaglaban ko ng halos dalawang dekada sa kahit na saan ano at kanino at maitutuloy ko lamang ito kung ito ang magiging hanap buhay ko," he added.
The 38-year-old musician drew flak from netizens after he performed at Vice President Jejomar Binay's sortie in Cavite, and again in Abi Binay's proclamation rally.
Many took his performance as an endorsement.
Fans were dismayed that his choice of presidential candidate, an alleged corrupt official, went against what he preached in his songs.
Denounces social injustices through his songs but performs for the success of sorties of TraPos.

Pollisco is known for singing about social injustices and poverty. Some of his well-known tracks include "Hari ng Tondo," and "Lando."
But the rapper said that it was no different from other sortie gigs.
"Ako ay kumakanta sa entablado ng ibat ibang kandidato marahil ay hindi nyo lang gusto ang isang entabladong sinampahan ko," he said.
Pollisco ended his post by saying that if the bashers' accusations were proven right, he will ask for forgiveness only from his children.
"Higit sa aking pagiging manunulat ng awitin, higit sa aking pagiging ehemplo at higit sa aking pagiging mamamayan, ako po ay isang Ama. Hihingi ako ng tawad sa aking mga anak dahil naniniwala ako na sa kanila lamang ako may pananagutan," he said. — APG, GMA News
