Kris Aquino explains why she addressed 'diamond' necklaces issue

Gaya ng kaniyang ipinangako sa isang Instagram post, ipinakita ng batikang TV host-actress at Queen of All Media na si Kris Aquino sa publiko ang kontrobersiyal na “diamond” necklaces, na pinapalabas ng ilang netizen na pagmamay-ari umano ng dating First Lady na si Rep. Imelda Marcos.

Ayon sa mga nakaraang viral post, ginamit umano ng aktres ang nasabing kuwintas sa naganap na Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit sa Pilipinas noong November 2015.

Para pasinungalingan ang paratang sa viral post, dinala ni Kris ang dalawang kuwintas mula sa Bottega Veneta, na gawa raw sa cubic zirconia at hindi diamonds.

“One thing that I really fear is that if I allow the lies to continue, they become truths. So I brought the necklaces. I couldn't understand—November pa 'yung APEC pero the other day, inuungkat pa 'yung issue. Sabi ko, ilalabas ko na... They are cubic zirconia. Fake diamonds,” aniya.

Dagdag pa ni Kris, “I want people to see it and put the issue to rest. I feel that when the truth is on your side, it's easy to discuss anything. Natakot lang ako na if I continue ignoring something that I thought is senseless and baseless, some people can acknowledge it as 'baka totoo.'”

Hindi na raw dapat papansinin ni Kris ang mga kumakalat na balita dahil alam niyang puro kasinungalingan lamang ito, ngunit nais niyang magbigay ng respeto sa alaala ng kaniyang inang si Cory Aquino, dating Pangulo ng Pilipinas.

Paliwanag ng host-actress, “14 years old lang po ako when my mom took office. I was reviewing it, and buti na lang medyo may photographic memory ako. We were not allowed to enter Malacañang for at least ten days because it might have been booby-trapped. There are a lot of things there. The last thing my family would do would be to steal someone else's jewelry.”

“Naiinis ako dito because it was putting into question my mom's memory. Obviously, saan ko makukuha, hindi ba? Siyempre, galing sa nanay ko,” pagtatapos niya.

Balik sa spotlight si Kris nitong Martes  para sa Wash Your Fears Summit ng Ariel, higit sa tatlong buwan matapos ang huli niyang public appearance. -- FRJ, GMA News
