'Enteng Kabisote 10' may still be a box office hit, Vic Sotto says

Despite not making it to the list of entries at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), "Enteng Kabisote 10 & The Abangers" might still become a box office hit, says lead actor Vic Sotto.

The film's opening date was pushed back to November 30, instead of the opening day of MMFF on December 25.

But Sotto pointed out that November 30, Bonifacio Day, is a holiday as well -- and SM Cinemas will open at 8 a.m., two hours earlier than usual.

"Usually malaki talaga ang gross sa December 25, the fact that it's Christmas, it's a holiday. Holiday pa rin naman ang November 30....Christmas din ang dating nun eh," Sotto said during a press conference on Thursday.

"Nagpasabi ng yung SM Cinemas na magbubukas sila ng 8 a.m. to accommodate the movie goers, lalo na sa mga bata," he added.

Sotto is still optimistic that the film will draw large crowds.

"The chances of being a box office hit is very possible for two, hanggang tatlong pelikula," he added.

In an earlier interview, Sotto lamented that this year's MMFF will not have movies that children can watch.

The 10th installment of the Enteng Kabisote franchise will feature the popular Aldub love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. — BAP, GMA News
