Mikael Daez remains a Kapuso for 7th year: ‘I won’t go anywhere else’
Kapuso actor Mikael Daez, star of afternoon drama series Legally Blind, on Thursday renewed his contract with GMA Network.
Present during the contract signing were Lilybeth Rasonable, Senior Vice President for Entertainment TV; Gigi Lara, Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions; and Elizabeth Vidanes, co-manager of Mikael.
"I don't plan on going anywhere else. I love it here. I think a big factor for that is I've grown here. Dito na ko lumaki, after college dumiretso na ko dito sa GMA," Mikael said, noting that it was his 7th year in the network.
"It feels good kasi when you mix your work and personal life, it feels fun. Your work is your life already, nag-eenjoy talaga 'ko sa ganon," he added.
Meanwhile, Rasonable said they were glad that Mikael decided to stay in the network.
"He started out talagang very new... We noticed him in the commercial, we saw lot of potential in him so we invested in him," Rasonable said.
"We're very happy that he is happy... Sabi nga niya sa akin, he's not going anywhere. At the same time tayo rin naman, we will always be here to support him," she added.
Growth as an actor
Mikael, who started as a commercial model, pointed out how he has improved over the years as a GMA artist.
"I came in very raw and very inexperienced and I just promised them, each and every project that they give me, it's not to be the best, amazing actor ever... I told them, gusto ko lang mag-improve," the Legally Blind actor said.
"I'm invested in this, I will work hard. If anything I want to be known as [one of the] hardest working person[s]. That is something I could try to work on," he said. — MDM, GMA News
