‘God Gave Me You’ singer Bryan White sends prayers to Pinoys after Resorts World attack
American country rock singer Bryan White sent his sympathies to the victims of the shooting incident of Resorts World Manila on Friday.
While still trying to catch up with the full details of the incident, the singer of the hit song "God Gave Me You" said he was "greatly saddened" by the event and that the Filipinos were in his prayers.
"I'm greatly saddened by what's going on and I want you to know that you're in my prayers," White said. "I also want you to know that hate never wins and what the enemy intends for evil, God intends for good always."
White connected with Filipino audiences after his songs were used by AlDub, the love team of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards. He eventually visited the Philippines and performed his song on Eat Bulaga!. He eventually wrote an original song for the on-screen couple.
Resorts World Manila has earlier admitted its security personnel did not engage the lone gunman when he walked into the hotel-casino and set on fire some gaming tables, causing patrons to panic and either jump out and suffer broken bones or inhale smoke while hiding.
Officials are ruling out terrorism as motive for the crime, saying the attacker had tried robbing the casino, contrary to claims that the suspect was a member of ISIS. — Rie Takumi/MDM, GMA News
