Sara Duterte says she’s been a Sharonian since childhood

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has been a fan of Sharon Cuneta since childhood.

In a post on her Instagram account last week, Duterte-Carpio posted a photo of herself with Cuneta during the actor-singer's visit in Davao City for her 40th anniversary concert.

In the caption the mayor dedicated a message to the Megastar, revealing that her first ever cassette tape was Sharon's.

Duterte-Carpio said she pleaded with her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, to meet Cuneta during her Davao visit back in 1988.

"In 1988, I pleaded with Digong if I could meet her when she visited Davao. She was 22 years old then and was very kind to me when I was a starstruck 10-year-old," Duterte-Carpio wrote.

"You are still the gracious person from 30 years ago but I feel that you are happier now  Davao will always welcome you. Happy 40 years in showbusiness!"

Days after Duterte-Carpio posted the photo, Sharon posted it as well. In the caption, she thanked the mayor and sent her regards to Duterte-Caarpio's mother Elizabeth Zimmerman.

"Thank you, dear Mayor Inday Sara @indaysaraduterte for such a wonderful time with you and the Davaoeños! Love to you and your sweet, beautiful Mommy Elisabeth! See you again soon for some personal time. Miss na kita Inday. Thank you uli so much! Hugs to Mommy!!!," Sharon wrote.
