Julie Anne San Jose admits breakup with Benjamin Alves

Kapuso singer-actor Julie Anne San Jose has confirmed her breakup with Benjamin Alves.

At the pocket press interview for "The Sweetheart and the Balladeer: Fun Night Only" on Thursday, Julie was asked by showbiz reporters what her priorities are this 2019.

"Time for myself and for my family also. I hope we would travel more this year," Julie Anne answered.

After Christian Bautista joined the conversation and asked if Julie would also consider taking solo trips ("Yeah! Why not?" was her answer), members of the press asked Julie if she was ready to welcome a "special someone" in her life again.

But her answer was no.

"I don't think I'm ready for that," Julie Anne began. "I just wanna focus on myself and sa work ko. I'm really, really focused pagdating sa mga bagay bagay when it comes to my work, my craft. I'm bettering myself, and my music. 'Yun 'yung important for me this year."

According to Julie Anne, her love life is not particularly a priority at this point. "Wala muna, darating tayo diyan," the Kapuso singer said.

The break up was further confirmed by an interview with Bernie Franco of PEP.ph, where Julie confirmed that she's currently single.

"Yes! Since last year," Julie Anne confirmed, adding, "I'm okay, I'm good. Better."

Asked if she and Benjamin are still remaining as friends, she replied, "No."

Rumors about Julie Anne and Benjamin's break up emerged last year, after the Asia's Pop Sweetheart posted photos of her new short hair look. But she quickly dismissed the speculations.

It could be recalled that Benjamin's father passed away in October last year, prompting him to fly immediately to Guam.

When asked what her yet-again new hair style meant, Julie Anne simply said, "Brand new start, new beginnings, new work, new relationships, new friends, new opportunities and blessings." — LA, GMA News
