Dayanara Torres says her skin cancer is not spreading

Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres happily announced that according to her medical tests, her skin cancer has not spread.

According to a report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali Weekend on Saturday, the 44-year old beauty queen said test results indicated that the cancer cells did not reach her internal organs.

Dayanara thanked everyone who sent prayers and showed support for her all throughout the way.

According to the beauty queen, she started her radiation treatment on Friday.

It was early in February when Dayanara revealed she has been diagnosed with skin cancer.

"Today I have some sad news... I have been diagnosed with skin cancer 'melanoma' from a big spot/mole I never paid attention to, even though it was new, it had been growing for years and had an uneven surface," the Puerto Rican beauty queen shared in an Instagram post. —Kaela Malig/KG, GMA News
