Heart Evangelista's reaction to the assumption that she's 'spoiled and super sheltered'

In a video blog on her YouTube channel, Heart Evangelista reacted to her followers' assumptions of her, one of whom said she's "spoiled and super sheltered."

Heart admitted that she and her sisters were spoiled by their father who loved dressing them up in expensive clothes, even when they were younger.

"I was spoiled growing up, my dad would really spoil us he would bring us to high-end stores and ask us to please try on those clothes. He'd make us try on all the pretty clothes, modelling like that... He liked dressing us up, my dad and my mom they loved dressing up."

But as years went by, she became more mature and had learned that she won't always get things that she wants.

"So yes I was spoiled, but as you go through life and you don't always get what you want, you start to realize that you have to adjust to life. So as I got older, I adjusted to life. You can't, it's just wrong to be a brat. Spoiled yes, brat no."

On the other hand, Heart said she has been trying to step out of her comfort zone and her husband Chiz has been helping her to become stronger and more independent.

"Sheltered I'd probably be plastic if I said no. I think I am but I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone. I have been and I'm very proud of myself," Heart said.

She continued, "That's why I'm very happy that I ended up with my husband because he's not the type to say 'you can't do this.' He would push me to do things by myself... I would ask him to go with me to take tests in the hospital because I'm very paranoid [and] he would tell me you know, you have to learn how to do things and be strong. Do it on your own, hindi pwedeng lahat lagi kang naka-ano sa tao so 'yong mga ganon so I'm really lucky that I met someone that made me stronger and face my fears." — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
