GMA committed to finding out what happened to Eddie Garcia during taping
GMA Network Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth Rasonable on Monday expressed sadness over the incident involving veteran actor Eddie Garcia during the taping of one its shows.
According to a report on "24 Oras," Rasonable said GMA was committed to getting to the bottom of what happened to the multi-awarded actor and director.
"I don't know how I can put into words kung ano yung bigat at saka yung lungkot na aming nararamdaman sa pangyayaring ito, kasi hindi naman kaila sa lahat ng tao na matagal nang naging tahanan rin ni Tito Eddie ang GMA," Rasonable said.
"Ang GMA ay fully committed to get to the bottom of this. Kung ano yung buong pangyayari, 'di kami bibitaw. Buong puso kaming makikipag...tayo, na makikipagtulungan sa pamilya sa abot ng ating makakaya para kay Tito Eddie," she added.
Cervical fracture
Garcia is in critical condition due to severe cervical fracture, Dr. Enrique Lagman, his family doctor, said in a statement released on Sunday afternoon.
Bibeth Orteza, a good friend of Eddie Garica, sent GMA Network the statement of Dr. Lagman, which said, “the doctors ruled out the first heart attack and stroke prognosis made at around 2pm, after those were disproven by several validating tests done in Mary Johnston Hospital later in the evening.”
“The family requests for prayers and asks for privacy in this moment,” the statement ended.
On Saturday, the 90-year-old veteran actor was reported to have suffered a heart attack while taping for an upcoming GMA show.
On Sunday morning, GMA Network released a statement saying it was reviewing videos that showed the actor collapsing on set. —NB, GMA News
