Heart Evangelista on her upcoming international action film: 'There's a lot of blood'

Heart Evangelista is set to show the daredevil side of her in her upcoming international action film, which she has been shooting in China for a few months now.

"Mahirap talaga siya. It’s really hard actually naiiyak na ako sa hirap. It’s action there's a lot of blood," Heart told reporters in an interview after a beauty product launch on Thursday.

The Kapuso Queen of Creative Collaborations revealed that she rarely gets stunt doubles while shooting because the director wants her to be the one to do the action scenes.

"Only kapag kunyari may basagan ng totoong bubog, but they really want you to be the one to do it," Heart said.

Despite the bruises she would sometimes get from doing strenuous scenes, Heart said when she finally saw it she felt rewarded.

"So sugatan ako, umiiyak ako. Sabi ko ano ba ‘tong napasok ko? But really when I saw it, it was really rewarding," she narrated.

Heart also shared how she got the project: "I got a call and they made me read through like a live online and then ‘yon nagulat ako that I got the lead role. Nagulat talaga ako."

Heart shares she looks up to Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence for her performance in all the action movies she starred in.

"All the action movies that she has done, I like it kasi parang kahit pumapatay siya parang meron siya guilt, may redeeming factor so I really like that but it was really more of how I was going to punch, how I was going to kick and everything," she said.

Heart said his husband Sorsogon's governor-elect Chiz Escudero was proud to see her do a role that's out of her character.

"He was so proud of me kasi parang out of character ‘yong ginawa ko and siya din ‘yong iniiyakan ko ‘pag nahihirapan ako kasi naho-home sick din ako because it’s really just hotel studio, hotel studio, no time to do anything else," she said. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
