Julia denies involvement in Gerald break-up, tells Bea: I refuse to be your victim

Julia Barretto broke her silence about the controversy surrounding the break-up of Gerald Anderson and Bea Alonzo.

In an Instagram message addressed to Bea on Tuesday, Julia denied any involvement in the break-up of the showbiz couple.

"I would like to disassociate myself from the break up of Bea and Gerald. Their issues are entirely their own," Julie wrote.

A cryptic post on Instagram by Bea sparked the break-up rumors with Gerald, with fans tagging Julia as being involved. Gerald and Julia starred in a movie earlier this year.

In an interview, Bea said that she and Gerald never formally broke up, adding they simply just stopped communicating. Gerald has said that there is no third party in their split.

The daughter of Marjorie Barretto also confirmed that she had split up from her erstwhile boyfriend, Joshua Garcia, for four months before the rumors began.

To Bea, Julia had some choice words.

"Your heartbreak should have been a private matter, but you have selfishly turned it into something of national concern," Julia said.

"Bea, you wanted to keep your hands clean by not mentioning me in your controversial post, but with a click of your finger, in your sly way, you have charged everybody to destroy me FOR YOU."

Julia claimed that Bea "encouraged a culture of hate" against her, calling it "downright bullying."

"You can play victim all you want, but I refuse to be your victim."
