Dingdong Dantes and newly enlisted Rocco Nacino attend the welcoming ceremony for the BRP Conrado Yap

Dingdong Dantes and newly enlisted Rocco Nacino were among the special guests at the welcoming ceremony for the BRP Conrado Yap, a Pohang-class corvette donated by South Korea at the Pier 13 in South Harbor in Manila.

The Kapuso stars previously worked and trained with the Armed Forces of the Philippines Special Forces to prepare for their roles as military men in the Philippine adaptation of Korean hit series "Descendants of the Sun."

The experience proved inspiring for Rocco, who has enlisted with the Philippine Navy. Rocco will be given the rank of Captain, thanks to his education. He is a board passer with a masters degree in nursing.

According to Philippine Fleet commander Rear Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo the BRP Conrado Yap will be Philippine Navy's "most powerful ship," featuring anti-surface, anti-submarine and anti-air warfare capabilities.
