Cherie Gil underwent a meniscal tear surgery

Cherie Gil just underwent a meniscal tear surgery and apparently it was the first time she's been confined since the '80s.

In high spirits, Cherie posted a selfie where she's seen lying down on a hospital bed wearing a hospital gown at Makati Medical Center.

Reminiscent of the 80’s , including my hairstyle, when I’ve been confined last, if I recall correctly. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay knowing I was in great hands and was super taken care of. From admissions, Joan and Monica , who were so gracious, my round the clock nurses, Aaron, Ria, Cheryl and Aika to my amazing top notch Drs! Starting with ortho DR Marc Castro, my admitting doctor as I went in for a meniscal tear surgery. And with the rightful insistence of Dr Martin Manahan , my gynecologist , I went in for further tests. So now that I mention my very thorough gastroenterologist, Dr Liboro, you might as well guess what else I came in for. And finally to my cardiologist, who cleared me for surgery, Dr Wensceslao, and lastly, but NOT the least my anesthesiologist , Dr Aypa! (Yummm) Let me not forget Louis and dra Corpus at the ultrasound dept and the vampires who sucked out vials of my blood. Apologies if I can’t Recall your names but you prick pretty good I have to say. And to all the kind fellows and residents who came to visit with clear explanations and reassurances. You guys are amazing! Deeply grateful ! And to all of you who sent me their concern and loving well wishes ... you know who are... I love you guys . Most especially to my parents who gave me moral support , to one of my bff’s Tessie Tomas who came to visit , to my dearest @bianca.rogoff who checked in on me and chatted for a bit while she caught her plane back to NY form studies in Amsterdam and finally to Dianne, my loyal PA who undyingly and tirelessly stayed by my side every second . I am now rebooted and given a clean bill of health ???????? along with a new pair of knees ready to face the next marathon of this new chapter of my life THANK YOU ALL #onward Ps and to @MMC thank you for the care, the facilities and top notch doctors This is the longest post I ever written! Because #healthiswealth guys ! BUT at the end of the day.. love and laughter is still the best medicine ????

"Reminiscent of the 80’s, including my hairstyle, when I’ve been confined last, if I recall correctly," she began in the caption of her post.

According to UW Medicine Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, an arthroscopic meniscus repair is an "outpatient surgical procedure to repair torn knee cartilage."

Cherie said she was there for the meniscal tear surgery and for other further tests.

"Starting with ortho DR Marc Castro, my admitting doctor as I went in for a meniscal tear surgery. And with the rightful insistence of Dr Martin Manahan, my gynecologist, I went in for further tests.

The StarStruck judge thanked those who sent her their concerns, those who visited her and her personal assistant for being there during her stay in the hospital.

Cherie said she's now all ready to go back  and face the new chapter of her life with a new pair of knees.
