Kris Bernal recovers Instagram account after hacking incident
Posting a selfie on Instagram, Kris Bernal announced on Wednesday that she has recovered her Instagram account after an unknown group of hackers in Turkey hacked her social media and email accounts last Sunday.
"It's finally me, Kris B, talking to you in my own personal account," she began her caption.
The Kapuso actor said it took three tedious attempts before she finally got her Instagram account back.
"The past few days had been so chaotic for me, especially how my personal life has been risked in danger because of cyberhackers. Good news to everyone that I finally got back my Instagram account after 3 tedious attempts."
She narrated how cyberhackers would access her account during the vulnerable hours between 2am to 6am.
"When I thought I got it back already, the hackers kept on accessing it that I get security codes non-stop even if I'm not doing anything. They attack during 2am-6am when I'm supposed to be asleep and is most vulnerable," she continued.
According to Kris, GMA also tried to help her retrieve her social media accounts but the hackers kept attacking, "sending me messages and calling me on whatsapp, until I secured it."
Kris said it was her boyfriend to suggested she vlog about the incident and in real time to warn her followers.
She admitted to being upset and emotional while shooting the vlog.
"The vlog I posted was as real and raw as it is, as I became so emotional thinking about the consequences of the situation."
Her post is only one of the three part series that she has yet to conclude.
Kris announced that her account has been hacked since 3am last September 22.
She said the hacker messaged and called her through WhatsApp, demanding her to pay more than $700 to get back her accounts. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
