Roderick Paulate is very happy to return to comedy with GMA Network's 'One of the Baes'

Roderick Paulate is returning to the comedy television scene with GMA-7's "One of the Baes" and at the show's press conference Wednesday, the veteran comedian had nothing but praise for his Kapuso co-stars and the whole production team.

"Natutuwa ako hindi lang dahil sa artista. Natutuwa ako dahil sa production mismo, the production group," he said.

"I want to tell you honestly na I'm very satisfied and happy with the production group kasi marunong sila mag-alaga ng aritsta," he continued.

The veteran comedian said he had no problems working with the younger generation.

"Nag-adjust din in terms tinitignan mo kung ano na 'yong psyche ng mga millennials or ng mga artista ngayon. Pero wala eh, wala akong nakitang problema. Sabi ko lang siguro ang i-de-develop lang namin 'yong mga relationships namin," he said.

Roderick works closely with Rita Daniela, whose character Jowalyn, is the daughter of his character. According to Roderick, they have a good working relationships.

"Katulad si Rita, first time pa lang pictorial pa lang, sabi ko OK. Nagkausap na kami tungkol sa background niya [and] talagang nasa lahi rin siya ng magagaling na artista, so hindi mahirap," said Roderick, who worked with Rita's late grandfather comedian Teroy de Guzman.

Meanwhile, Rita said she's learned a lot from Roderick.

"Sobrang everyday dami ko pong natututunan sa kanya eh super," she said.

Rita learned from Roderick that in comedy "there's a receiver  and a giver and since kami po palagi 'yong magka-eksena so doon pa lang po hindi pa kami nagwo-work may natutunan na ako sakanya, so mas more pa nung nagka-eksena na kami."
