Miley Cyrus shares pics with Cody Simpson, tells public to 'get used to me dating — this is where I am at!'

Barely two months after Miley Cyrus called it quits with Liam Hemsworth, Billy Ray's daughter hasn't been shy in social media, showing affection and looking cozy with Australian singer Cody Simpson.

On Twitter Wednesday, Miley posted an aww-inducing photo with Cody serenading her.

E Online reports Miley even called Cody her new "BF" as she posted on Instagram Stories about his visit to the hospital where she was being treated for tonsilitis.

Meanwhile, Miley and a shirtless Cody took to Instagram Stories to post photos of her coming home.

"My sick girl finally free," Cody captioned a photo of Miley.

But in a statement posted on Twitter over the weekend, Miley tried to straighten things out. She had four main points.

"I know the public feels invested in my past relationship because they felt like they saw it (through) from the beginning," she began but emphasized that "people only 'know' what they see on the internet."

Second, she lamented how "men (especially successful ones) are rarely slut shamed" and are even referred to as "legends" and "ladies man," but women are called "sluts/whores."

"I'm trying to just thrive/survive in a man's world. If we can't beat 'em, join 'em!" she said.

Third, Miley said she refuses to recluse and "date" from home. "I would like to share an activity with someone I am dating and not be stuck at home wit pretty much nothing to do but 'Netflix and chill'," she said.

And finally, Miley says this "dating" thing was new to her, too. "I was in a committed relationship for almost all my teens and early '20s," she wrote.

She also clarified that she was not asking the public to "f***ing pity me."

"I have a great life I wouldn't trade for 'privacy' but please don't make this awkward for me...Get used to me dating - this is where I am at!"
