Sunshine Dizon on playing a mistress in 'Magkaagaw': 'In real life ayoko talaga ng kabit'
Although Sunshine Dizon will be playing a mistress in GMA-7's upcoming series "Magkaagaw," she said she will still never agree with mistresses in real life.
"Ganon pa rin naman ako pa rin 'yong inaapi ibang stiuation lang, it's more of a suspension of disbelief kasi in real life, ayoko talaga ng kabit," Sunshine told reporters at the press conference of "Magkaagaw" on Monday.
The Kapuso actress who will play the role of Laura, the clueless mistress of Alfred Vargas' character Mario, said her character's situation is different since she didn't know that her lover was previously married.
"Iba naman kasi 'yong situation ni Laura kasi she was put in that situation na wala siyang laban because all the while niligawan siya, pinakasalan siya. How could she have known na merong palang prior marriage," Sunshine narrated.
She also noted that it was set in the '90s when there was no CENOMAR or the Certificate of No Marriage Record in the Philippines yet.
"'Yong sinasabi kong actual na basis na the story was set 1990s and at that time wala talagang way si Laura para i-check kasi wala pang CENOMAR. I hope that is clear with the audience," she added.
Sunshine said it's a "totally different story when you know that someone is married with kids. Bakit mo papasukan 'yong sitwasyon? Maling mali 'yon."
When asked if she will look differently or understand the situation of mistresses, she said she will never agree with them especially if the other person knows that his lover has a family.
"Mauunawaan ko kung parehas ng sitwasyon ni Laura maawa ako sa 'yo, pero if you did it knowing na meron kang sinsirang pamilya that is a different story. I will never agree with you. Sorry to say that," she said.
Sunshine married Timothy Tan in 2010. They have two children together. Six years later, they separated with Sunshine filing a case against Timothy after she caught him having an affair with alleged mistress Clarisma Sison.
The charges filed against Timothy were for violating the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 and concubinage.
She dropped the cases she filed in 2017 saying it's for the benefit of her children.
In an interview with PEP.ph in January, Sunshine said both she and her estranged husband have not yet filed for annulment.
"Magkaagaw" is set to premiere on GMA-7 on October 21. Other celebrities who will be in the drama series include Klea Pineda, Jeric Gonzales, Sheryl Cruz, Patricia Tumulak, Lovely Abella, Dennis Padilla, Polo Ravales and Isay Alvarez. — LA, GMA News
