Joyce Pring asks Tita Mel to be a ninang for her wedding on live television, Igan already a ninong

Joyce Pring and Juancho Trivino are getting married next year, and it looks like the Kapuso hosts already found a "ninang" and "ninong" in television icons Mel Tiangco and Arnold "Igan" Clavio.

In fact, the the bride-to-be asked Mel to be godmother on the set of "24 Oras" as she was hosting "Chika Minute" on Thursday.

Joyce even made mano to Tita Mel off-cam, as seen in her Instagram post.

"My mom told me I could be anything so I became makapal ang (mukha) and asked Ms. Mel Tiangco to be our Ninang on live television right beside Ninong Igan," she said in the caption.

This all started when Mel cornered Joyce after her report, asking her for some wedding details.

All smiles, Joyce revealed that she and Juancho plan to have a "garden wedding" by the first quarter of next year, and they've chosen a "very special" place — the place where Juancho first told Joyce that he loved her.

Mel then asked if they already had a ninang and ninong in mind, to which Joyce answered, "Nandiyan na po si ninong Igan, makakasama po natin," referring to Igan who was co-anchoring the newscast with Mel and Vicky Morales.

Joyce officially announced her engagement on Instagram this week, revealing that Juancho had proposed to her last August 3.

It appears the news anchors were just as excited as we are, because  Vicky Morales even asked how many kids they were thinking having.

Joyce's eyes widened at the question, and said, "Ilang taon pa po!"

"Depende po kung gaano kalaki 'yung ibibigay ni igan sa wedding, ganoon kadami 'yung anak," she joked.

Jokes aside, the GMA news anchors gave the future Mrs. Trivino their blessing.

"Best wishes to the bride and congratulations to the groom," Mel said.
