Mika Dela Cruz reacts to fan saying she should wear a bikini

Whether Mika Dela Cruz "should" wear a bikini is completely up to her and to no one else.

But one fan seemed to think he could tell her what she "should" do, and said as much in a comment on beach photos the young "Kara Mia" star posted on Instagram.

"You should also do bikini while in [sic] the beach.. just sayin," he said, to which Mika had a polite response. 

Instead of calling the netizen out, she simply replied: “I don't like posting pictures of myself revealing much of my body [smile emoji] or maybe not yet but it is what it is haha.”

Despite Mika's chill response, several followers came to her defense in the comments.

"That's why I admire girls like u," said one comment.

However, wearing a bikini—whether to go swimming in or, yes, even just to "flaunt" one's body—does not mean a woman is no longer worthy or deserving of respect. This may seem like common sense, but apparently it's a lesson that many people still need to learn. — Margaret Claire Layug/BM, GMA News
