Gab Valenciano to give Wowowin 'younger and quicker vibe' as the show's new director
Gab Valenciano is the newest director of Wowowin and on Monday, Gary V.'s son said he's been experimenting on giving the show a "younger and quicker vibe."
"If you've noticed recently, it's much quicker, it's a little younger," Gab told GMA entertainment reporters.
Gab said he loves to watch Wowowin main man Willie Revillame explore his creativity when it comes to directing the show but he also wanted to help lessen Kuya Wil's workload.
"I told Kuya if there's one way that I could come in and kinda lessen the load for you in terms of your creative input, in terms of the production value, in terms of the music, the shots and everything, then maybe there is a place for me here," he narrated.
Gab said it wasn't really difficult to want to be part of the show. "It was so natural for me to fall in love with the show. Na-in love din ako sa mga tao."
The new Wowowin director said working with Wowowin and GMA feels like he's coming home.
"I've always loved GMA, I've always loved the people of GMA and to be honest I actually started here. It really felt very familiar to me and I feel very fortunate. "
Gab said he feels very blessed to become part of "something that doesn't just entertain people pero talagang Kuya goes out of his way to help so many people, so many Filipinos, to be able to be part of that vision, nakakatuwa."
The 31-year-old director said he initially had no plans on going back to showbiz but when he understood Kuya Wil's vision, he wanted in.
"To be able to start 2020 with this one, you know I've been away from showbiz for a very long time and I really had no plans on going back but na-capture ko parang na-inhale ko 'yong vision and mission ni kuya, which is to help Filipinos all around the world, to give them happiness," he said.
More than directing the show, Gab said it's a collaboration between him, Kuya Wil and the entire staff and crew of Wowowin.
"I always make sure I always tell the staff and crew if may input kayo tell me because I'm not the type na sarado, ako lang 'to, " he said.
"Ang ganda ng chemistry ng buong team," he added.
Gab also teased that surprises are coming up within the next couple of weeks and months.
"Younger vibe, quicker vibe, we have a lot of surprises coming up within the next couple of weeks and months," he said.
Kuya Wil announced that Wowowin is set to launch Wowowin Primetime which will air every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. starting February 15. — LA, GMA News
