LJ Reyes calls for bayanihan amid COVID-19 scare

LJ Reyes called for the Filipinos to display the bayanihan spirit amid the country's fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In an Instagram post, the Kapuso actress urged everyone to do their part and contribute to the efforts to curb the virus by staying at home.

"Everyone in the community shares the burden for the benefit of one. Ngayon nakalimutan na ata natin kung paano to," she said.

BAYANIHAN = PAGTUTULUNGAN . . Everyone in the community shares the burden for the benefit of one. Ngayon nakalimutan na ata natin kung paano to. Take part in this fight! If you can do more, pls do! Lalo na yung malalaking kumpanya! Kakayanin natin to basta tulungan tayo! Wala na munang pagpupuna. Stop negativity. Punuan ang pagkukulang. . . . #gratefulmondays

She called on Filipinos to stop spreading negativity and instead give a helping hand when you can.

"Kakayanin natin to basta tulungan tayo!" she said. "Punuan ang pagkukulang."

LJ also thanked President Rodrigo Duterte, the frontliners, and the companies who have given aid and consideration to the citizens.

Duterte has placed the entire Luzon under enhanced community quarantine. Mass public transport has been suspended and people may only go out of their homes to buy food and medicine.

As of Wednesday, the Philippines has 193 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Seven have recovered and 14 have died. --Jannielyn Bigtas/MGP, GMA News
