Amid COVID-19 scare, Philippine theatrical release of ‘Black Widow’ postponed
Sad news, Marvel fans.
Originally set to hit Philippine cinemas on April 29, Marvel Film's “Black Widow” is now postponed to a later date.
In a press statement statement, Disney Philippines announced it will move the release of the Marvel Studios film to a later date, depending on the situation surrounding the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Black Widow,” which also stars Rachel Weisz and Florence Pugh, is a highly-anticipated prequel to “Avengers: Endgame.”
The same statement announced 20th Century Studios' "The Woman in the Window,” which was slated for May 13, 2020, has also been postponed.
The films join a flurry of premieres hampered by the outbreak of COVID-19, which has been characterized by the World Health Organization as a pandemic.
The general public have been advised to stay indoors, observe social distancing, proper cough etiquette, and frequent hand-washing as the disease has been known to be transmitted through respiratory droplets.
