Ben&Ben to have an FB live concert to raise funds for COVID-19 relief


Ben&Ben joins the growing number of artists to hold an online show for the benefit of COVID-19 frontliners. After Ryan Cayabyab, and the GMA Artists online show, the nine-piece indie darlings are set to have a Facebook Live Jam on March 27 at 7p.m.

"It's a massive fundraising online showcase entitled Puhon: A Ben&Ben FB Live Event for the COVID-19 Efforts," read the press statement from Sony Music.

Ben&Ben's FB live show is going to be an hour-long set and to comply with the Luzon-wide quarantine, they will set out to do the near impossible: all nine-members will be performing from each their homes. Talk about tele-commute!  

The FB Live jam serves as the launch of Ben&Ben's community-initiative website, www.puhon.ph.

Puhon.ph "aims to inspire, uplift, and boost the collective morale of all the key stakeholders of the COVID-19 response through uplifting stories, music, art and more." It will provide an opportunity for people to contribute in helping frontliners and urban poor community affected by COVID-19.

All proceeds from Ben&Ben's project are set to raise funds for "COVID-19 test kits,  Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and nutrition support for frontline healthcare workers, and relief goods for daily wage earners.

President Rodrigo Duterte placed Luzon on enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The Luzon-wide quarantine started on March 17 and will end on April 13.

As of Sunday, there are 73 new cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, bringing the total to 380. Meanwhile, a total of 15 patients have recovered from COVID-19. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
