Pauleen Luna Sotto, other celebrities mourn the death of Dr. Sally Gatchalian

The country has lost several brave doctors to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), including Dr. Sally Gatchalian who was the president of the Philippine Pediatric Society.

Dr. Sally was also the sister of "Eat Bulaga" host Ruby Rodriguez, who received some heartfelt messages from her colleagues on social media.

Fellow Dabarkads and Kapuso stars extended their condolences to Ruby through her posts on Instagram, including Joey de Leon, Baeby Baste, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Aicelle Santos, Yasmien Kurdi, Arnold Clavio, Tom Rodriguez and Patricia Tumulak, Rhea Santos and That’s My Bae’s Kenneth and Miggy.

Ruby herself honored her sister with a throwback photo posted on her Instagram story.

Pauleen Luna, who was “heartbroken” by Dr. Sally’s passing, recalled her last memory with “Ninang Sally” in an Instagram story.

“My last memory with our Ninang Sally and we didn't even shoot this together I am heartbroken…I love you, Manang Sally. I will never forget your selflessness, your beautiful and bright personality. You brought sunshine to every room. I will never forget your kindness to my family and I love you,” Pauleen wrote.

Others including “Kita-Kita” actress Alessandra De Rossi, Arlene Muhlach, Judy Ann Santos, Sarah Lahbati, Maxene Magalona, Sam YG, MJ Lastimosa and Agot Isidro also extended their prayers to Dr. Sally’s family.

Dr. Sally Gatchalian died after a fierce battle with COVID-19, which has claimed the lives of 45 people and infected more than 700 in the country as of Thursday.

In her Instagram after her sister’s passing, Ruby shared a family photo with Dr. Sally smiling at the center, saying they “will only remember you with happy memories, laughing and sleeping.”
