Solenn Heussaff, G Tongi, Michelle Gallaga to star in thriller tribute to Peque Gallaga

Solenn Heussaff, G Tongi, and Michelle Gallaga will be starring in a thriller trilogy shot from their own homes to pay tribute to the late film director Peque Gallaga.

Titled "Quarantina Gothika," the project features "three dark stories" in honor of the Master of Horror. It is directed by Lore Reyes, Christian Acuna, and Jo Macasa.

"Challenge accepted. self shot from home in this new normal. Three women under lockdown…and in peril," Solenn wrote in the caption of her post.

The digital release will be on August 1, 7 p.m. on the Remembering Peque Gallaga Facebook page.

Gallaga passed away last May. He was 76.

The award-winning director built an incredible body of work that began in the '70s and included films like "Gold, Silver, Death," "Scorpio Nights," "Magic Temple," a handful of "Shake, Rattle and Roll" films and "Magic Kingdom."

But it was the 1982 film classic "Oro Plata Mata" that Gallaga was best known for. 

He was first recognized for his production design work in "Ganito Kami Nuon, Paano Kayo Ngayon?" in the first-ever 1976 Gawad Urian Awards. —Jannielyn Bigtas/MGP, GMA News
