Former actor Ariosto Reyes Jr. passes away after battle with cancer
Former actor Ariosto Reyes Jr. passed away after years of battling cancer.
According to a PEP.ph report, the actor died Aug. 23 in Florida, USA, where he lived.
“He’s been battling cancer for years. Things took a turn for the worse about two weeks ago. Three days ago he fell into a coma,” said Benjie Garcia, “Philippine Story” director and a friend and batchmate of Ariosto at Ateneo de Manila University.
Friends and his goddaughter, Anne Quinto Wong, also confirmed the news on social media.
On Sunday, Anne shared on Facebook that her godfather Ariosto was already experiencing his “last days on Earth” and would be ending “his battle with complications from an illness.”
“Please offer a little prayer for him as he starts his journey home to God,” she said. “Thanks for your art in movies, TV, and song, Ninong Nonong.”
Ariosto, who starred on “Lovingly Yours, Helen” in 1980 with Vivian Foz and “Magsisi Man Ako” in 1969 with Divina Valencia, appeared on a “Magpakailanman” episode in August 2019 after 20 years of being away from show biz. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
