Director Mark Reyes says Shaira Diaz, Ruru Madrid’s kissing scene in ‘I Can See You’ is ‘one of the best’

Director Mark Reyes revealed that Shaira Diaz and Ruru Madrid’s kissing scene in the second season of “I Can See You” is definitely a favorite of his.

With years of experience, the director stated that new love teams usually take time adjusting but in the case of the Kapuso stars, it didn’t.

“[It’s] one of the best kissing scenes I’ve directed and was able to shoot in my entire career. It was so natural. There was nothing lustful about it. It was so romantic,” he said in an online press conference last Tuesday.

“For them to have that, it’s a gift. I saw it in Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera from way back and then with Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin. Those are rare cases,” he added.

Coming from a renowned director, the leads couldn’t help but feel grateful for the compliment.

“Para masabi na one of the best tapos favorite niya, nakakakilig. Ibig sabihin nagawa namin siya nang tama,” Shaira said.

["For one of the best directors to say that, it means we were able to do it correctly."]

“Kung sa mata ni direk pumasa yung gano’ng kiss, yung ginawa namin, yung tinrabaho namin ni Ruru, parang good sign siya na sana pumasa rin sa iba,” she added.

["If the kiss passed Direk Mark Reyes' standards, it's a good sign that it will pass the standards of others."]

The two will star in “On My Way to You,” the first offering in the “I Can See You” series’ second season set to premiere on March 22.

Shaira will play the role of Raki, a runaway bride who went viral after leaving the Church on the day of her wedding. Ruru, meanwhile, is Jerrick, a groom who was left in the altar. They meet at a place where they initially intended to heal from their heartbreak.

They will also star in “Lolong,” GMA’s biggest action-adventure series. Its release date is yet to be announced. — LA, GMA News
