TikTok's 'Starfish King' fulfills life-long dream of dancing with Rochelle Pangilinan

A Filipino TikToker who was born without hands and feet recently fulfilled his life-long dream of dancing with Rochelle Pangilinan.

Aldrin Pawa a.k.a. the "Starfish King" had a virtual dance-off with the actress and former Sex Bomb member on GMA-7's "Unang Hirit."

On top of his struggles as a person with disability (PWD), Aldrin experienced a lot of bullying all his life.

The TikTok star from Puerto Princesa, Palawan said people would call him "starfish" or "Patrick" to mock his appearance.

One day, he decided to turn that negative into a positive, and eventually became known on TikTok as the "Starfish King."

Currently followed by more than 1.6 million people, Aldrin aims to use his platform to spread awareness about PWDs.

As a special treat from GMA-7's "Unang Hirit," Aldrin got to meet Rochelle Pangilinan who was one of his inspirations growing up.

"Idol na idol ko po kasi siya since bata pa po ako…'yung sayaw niya pong 'Spaghetti... talagang sinasaway ko po sa mga contest po," he shared.

(She really is my idol, ever since I was young. I even danced to 'Spaghetti' during my contests.)

Aldrin and Rochelle even got to do a live virtual dance-off, and the former Sex Bomb member was impressed by his dance mo and inspired by his story.

"Ako 'yung na-inspire sa kanya kasi, grabe, ang galing niya tsaka 'yung galawan niya ibang klase… 'yung iba nga walang ganyan, eh siya, meron," she said.

(I'm the one who's inspired because he's so good and his moves are really something else... Not everyone has what he has.) — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
