Bretman Rock cries as he dedicates Pride magazine cover to gay Filipino kids

Bretman Rock turned emotional as he talked about his newly released Pride-themed magazine cover.

In his Instagram stories, the Filipino internet sensation teared up as he dedicated the June issue of Nylon Manila to gay Filipino kids.

"I don't even think you guys realize how important this cover is to me, and how iconic I think it is," he said. "Obviously I'm from the Philippines and the cover is with Nylon Manila, and it's not all the time that you get to see an openly gay man on the cover of a magazine especially back home in the Philippines."

"So it's a big moment for me," he added before getting choked up.

Although he was clearly emotional, Bretman tried to continue speaking.

"The cover is like my love letter to...why the f— can't I just get through this video," he suddenly said with tears in his eyes. "That cover was my love letter to all of the gay, queer Filipino kids out there because I believe that we all deserve our own magazine cover."

As he tried to compose himself, he said that he doesn't like crying and he just did his makeup.

"I had all dialogue ready but I cannot get through this video because every five seconds I'm going to say a word and I'm going to cry," he said.

Bretman then said he was going to recompose himself because "it's just a lot of emotions right now."

His next Instagram story showed him lying down with tears on his cheeks.

"You got me crying in the DMs," he said.

On Instagram, Bretman shared a photo of said cover, saying that it was for "all the baklas."

"I worked on this with an entire team of Filipino creatives, from the Filipino banters behind the scene, the bibinka and jollibee we had for lunch and being on FaceTime with Manila the whole day- this project was as Filipino through and through," he said.

Earlier this month, Bretman became one of the faces of Nike's Pride Month collection.
