Jess Wilson reveals near-death experience just after wedding in Palawan

Jess Wilson, Georgina Wilson's sister and Sunnies co-founder, revealed on social media that she went through a near-death experience just after her wedding in Palawan.

In her Instagram stories on Monday, Jess said that she and her friends were by the sea watching the sunset when she was bit by a stonefish, an animal considered to be the most venomous fish whose venom can be fatal to humans.

She posted the beautiful photo she took just before she was stung and said, "This is the photo, the very second, I got stung by a stonefish. Google what a stonefish is and you'll maybe feel the 1% amount of fear and anxiety I had been in."

"We walked down to the water to take some photos of the sky, not knowing this was going to be a moment that would change me forever. I asked my friend to take my photo by the water. Another friend went first, took her photo and came back out. I then went to take mine and in a few seconds felt this immense sharp sting to my foot," she added.

After she was stung, Jess said that she was rushed to the emergency room of Culion hospital on a speedboat.

"I've never felt such pain in my life...I could only describe it as the pain [when] you burn yourself, that sting that won't go away, it's that, for hours, 10x," Jess said.

She added that she thought that was it for her already, but thankfully, the doctors, resort, boat men, and the local government unit gave her immediate attention.

Thanking everyone who helped her, she said, "Can't make sense how this happened to me, on this particular weekend in this way, but I'm so thankful to be alive and feel like I've had a second chance. Never take life for granted."

Jess clarified as well that the accident had nothing to do with the resort since they also gave their warning that stonefishes are often found in Palawan and may be present in the water when it's low tide, and were quick and efficient in their response.

Currently, Jess is still recovering and has to undergo "3 IVs, 2 tetanus shots, 2 ER, X-rays, and countless painkillers."

"Just a reminder of how fragile life is, how quickly everything can be taken away, how grateful you have to be for today," she added.

On Monday, Jess and her fiance Moritz Gastl announced that they've tied the knot during a civil wedding held in Palawan.
