3 things about ‘Catch Me Out Philippines’ that wowed AiAi Delas Alas
"Catch Me Out Philippines" is back and according to special guest spotter AiAi Delas Alas, it’s going to be grand!
In an online interview with GMA News Online Thursday, the comedienne shared that she will join the reality competition as a special celebrity spotter, making her debut on the show's return episode on Saturday, July 31.
Attending the show for the first time, AiAi said its premiere excites her as it ushers in a new chapter of performances from talented Filipinos.
Amid her excitement, AiAi shared three things that are worth looking out for.
1. Mind-boggling performances
The show aims to highlight world-class acts among Filipinos. The premise is for spotters like AiAi to spot which of the performers are amateurs and which of them are professionals. According to AiAi, viewers will have a hard time figuring out the newbie from the professionals.
“You wouldn't know the professional from the amateur. They’re all good. They really studied for a long time on how to make you confused,” she said in a mix of English and Filipino, adding she herself had a hard time identifying who the amateur performer is.
“You really have to look at the small details. That’s where you’ll determine who the amateur is from the professional because you’ll see how they move,” she added.
2. You’ll never know what will happen. The return of “Catch Me Out Philippines” will be full of surprises!
With everyone’s professional-like skills, even if they’re amateurs, you’ll end up getting that unexpected result at the end of every performance.
“You’ll be shocked that the person isn’t a professional,” she said, adding that there are acts which really wowed her.
“There were women rockstars. They’re cute with big voices and it’s like, ‘Where did that come from?’ It’s like what they’re doing isn’t coming from them,” she added.
3. AiAi’s "very, very light patikim"
While performers are the main stars of the show, AiAi, of course, will be showing what she’s got.
Although she won’t be performing a big one, the comedienne said fans should still watch out for her “very very light patikim” in between segments.
Other than that, her interactions with Jose Manalo, Derrick Monasterio, and Mark Bautista will also be notable for viewers who want to join in on the decision-making.
“You’ll be engrossed to join our spotters and judges on who you should choose,” she said.
“Catch Me Out Philippines,” the first in Asia, is a franchise from the original United Kingdom version. Jose Manalo returns as host with Derrick Monasterio and AiAi Delas Alas as celebrity spotters. The second season opens with Mark Bautista as guest spotter. It will air on GMA-7 on Saturday, July 31.
