Mikee Quintos reveals she wore a wig to her ‘Pepito Manaloto’ audition

Mikee Quintos has been bringing tons of laughter to Kapuso viewers as the young Elsa on “Pepito Manaloto: Ang Unang Kwento.”

In a recent online media conference, the Kapuso actress shared a really funny story while auditioning to play the younger version of Manilyn Reynes’ character.

Mikee was actually bleach blonde at the time, so she had to find a way to switch back to a darker hair color right away without damaging it.

“For a script test with Sef (Cadayona) [playing Pepito], I wore a wig!” she said.

“Kasi since hindi pa confirmed ang role, ayaw ko pa pong magpa-dark, parang ganon’n kasi mamamatay pa po lalo ang hair color ko, so last minute na talaga.”

In the end, Mikee got the part and she got to keep her blonde hair for only around two weeks.

Then why did she get bleached in the first place?

Well, if you look at the album cover of her first single “Just Enough,” you’ll notice that Mikee went blonde again—only it was just another wig.

“That was the intention. I really colored my hair for music, for this whole endeavor,” Mikee said. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
