John Lloyd Cruz reveals why he inked partnership with GMA Network

John Lloyd Cruz has opened up and revealed why he inked a partnership with GMA Network at this point in his career.

In an exclusive interview with "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," the award-winning actor said the move came from wanting to help a group that was close to his heart.

"Siguro nasa punto ako na susundan ko na lang 'yung trabaho," he said. "Nag-uugat sa pagtulong sa isang grupo na malapit sa puso ko. Kung magsasama-sama kami ulit mas may tsansang magkaroon ng trabaho ang lahat."

[I guess I'm at the point where I just follow where the job is. It came from wanting to help a certain group that is close to my heart. If we get together again there's a bigger chance that everyone will have jobs.]

Early this month, John Lloyd officially signed a partnership with the Kapuso network. Among his most anticipated projects is a sitcom with Andrea Torres and Willie Revillame.

According to the actor, the upcoming sitcom doesn't stray far from the typical life of a male his age.

"Ang kakaiba dito is 'yung structure ng family na kinabibilangan niya. Plus, dito meron akong anak din," John Lloyd said.

[What's different about this is the family structure my character is part of. Plus, I also have a child here.]

He added that having a child on the show may also help him when he's missing his own son in real life when he's working.

Aside from his upcoming sitcom, many fans are also anticipating his reunion project with longtime on-screen partner and now fellow Kapuso Bea Alonzo.

"Ang dami naming pwedeng magawa eh. But, I'm looking forward to that day, especially si Ma'am Annette (GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Valdes) gustung-gusto niyang makagawa kami ng pelikula eh," he added.

[We can do so many things together. But I'm looking forward to that day, especially because Ma'am Annette really wants us to do a film.]

In terms of finding new content to work on, John Lloyd said this time he'd let the projects come in.

"Siguro itong pagkakataon na mas hindi ako maghahabol sa content na gusto ko. Hayaan ko silang dumating nang kusa," he said.

[I guess this time I'm not going to dwell so much on content that I want. I'll just wait for the opportunity to come to me.] – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
