'The World Between Us' returns: 5 exciting things to expect

"The World Between Us" is going to be a rollercoaster ride when it returns after its season break.

Before finally getting their happy every after, Alden Richard's Louie Asuncion and Jasmine Curtis Smith's Lia Libradilla are first going to have to face various challenges with their family.

In a virtual press conference, the main cast took the time to share things that make their comeback the best one yet for the viewers.

1. Louie Asuncion 2.0

Louie is going to be the best version of himself after he survives a charge for a crime that he did not commit.

According to Alden, the show's continuation will show how his character will go on "payback time" mode to those who did him wrong.

For his transformation, Alden said he made a lot of efforts to improve himself like going on a diet and working out five times a week. He added that some of the clothes and props were actually his.

"Ganito po ako ka-invested dito sa show na 'to since I really committed myself to it. Kahit anong pwede kong maitulong, I will do that so cinommit ko sarili ko in slimming down, to look the character," he said.

2. High tension confrontations

As seen in the trailer, Rachel Libradilla (Dina Bonnevie) is set to find out the truth about Yachie (Jaclyn Jose) and Brian Libradilla's (Tom Rodriguez) relationship.

Intense confrontations are expected from all the characters involved. Aside from the crying, the lines are surely going to be heart-wrenching.

In fact, Dina said these were the most challenging scenes to do because of the energies they need.

3. Character developments

While Louie becomes the best version of himself after the challenges, Lia is going to have a hard time reaching her best potential. Instead of going upwards, she will somehow go back to square one.

"In her direction of trying to become mature, her own woman, the course changes because of a sudden change in her life. 'Yung control na almost na niya ma-achieve, mababawi for some time," Jasmine said.

"She will (just) surrender to her destiny and decide to let go of her strength and chance at becoming the woman that she is supposed to be," she added.

Brian, meanwhile, is going to be worse than he already is before the season break after finding out the truth about his biological mom.

"It's a natural extension of his character arc," Tom said. "He keeps feeling like he's being [hurt] by the people he loves [then] tries to find a pocket of people that would fuel that sort of hatred."

"Things are getting even worse, the stakes are getting higher. Mas matindi 'yung mga kaya niya gawin."

4. New faces

The already star-studded cast of the series is going to be bolstered with new faces.

One of the first to be revealed is Ricky Davao, whose character will serve as Louie's ally and partner while he undergoes several trials and hearings while inside prison.

Alden said working with Ricky was such a privilege and helped him to do better with the scenes.

"We all know that Ricky Davao is one of the pillars of this industry, and we're very honored and happy that he was able to give us time para makatrabaho rito sa show," he said.

"Magaling po (siya) sobra, nakakadala, so I'm really happy na he's part of the cast," he added.

According to Jasmine, the new faces will allow for even better twists and turns in Louie and Lia's lives.

5. Louie Asuncion and Lia Libradilla's love story

After being away for years, Louie and Lia finally get engaged. However, their wedding gets postponed due to charges pressed against the former. What will happen to their love story?

As seen in the trailer, Louie was seen begging Lia not to leave him as he faces trials while in prison. Will they actually get their happy ending or it really over this time?

"Sila nga ba ay para sa isa't isa or baka some things are just meant to happen?" Alden said. "Ipapakita ng storya na 'to na love will conquer all."

"If something good has been done, good will return. If something bad has been done, something bad will happen to that person," he added as a quick hint of how the series will end.

"The World Between Us" is returning on GMA-7 on November 22 at 8:50 p.m.
