Mr. M reveals story behind GMA Artist Center’s new look and name ‘Sparkle’

Johnny Manahan, also known as Mr. M, has revealed the concept behind GMA Artist Center's new name "Sparkle."

During a media interview on Friday as Sparkle introduced its eight next brightest stars this 2022, Mr. M said, "We wanted to invigorate the artist center. Of course, Artist Center has been there for many many years. They have guided so many artists to become stars of GMA but I think we felt that we needed to reinvigorate the Artist Center so we started with the name."

He added, "Hopefully 'yung pangalan na 'yun magpapasabog sa new year."

[Hopefully the name will welcome the new year with a bang.]

According to Mr. M, the name "Sparkle" was given by Lawrence Tan, their consultant for imaging and branding.

"We knew that was it. That was the name that we needed," Mr. M said.

This 2022, GMA Artist Center welcomes the new year with a fresh and energized new look.

Spearheaded by Mr. M together with Ms. Gigi Santiago-Lara, Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions, Sparkle aims to propel GMA Artist Center to even greater heights.

Aside from its new title, Sparkle also unveiled its cluster of eight bright, young stars. Sparkle's Next Brightest Stars for 2022 include Bianca Umali, Gabbi Garcia, Ysabel Ortega, Sanya Lopez, Khalil Ramos, Miguel Tanfelix, Ruru Madrid, and Derrick Monasterio. – RC, GMA News
