Kris Aquino asks for prayers instead of gifts for 51st birthday: ‘Choose who really needs your financial support now’

Kris Aquino wishes nothing more than prayers for her 51st birthday on Valentine’s Day.

On Instagram, Kris said prayers for herself and someone dear to her and her brother, late former Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, would be more appreciated.

“My true birthday wish? Please pray for someone both Noy and I love so dearly. ‘Cause I want to protect the person’s privacy, ang hirap magbigay ng detalye,” she said.

“All my prayers now, hindi para sa’kin. I’m asking you to do the same na siya muna ang ipagdasal niyo. Please realize how much this matters to me,” she added. “Everyone praying for me, ipagdasal din siya.”

Kris didn’t name a specific person, but she said something had been overlooked, so her medical history had to be revisited. She was scheduled to take blood tests on Sunday morning.

She added that it would be good if gifts will be given to Filipinos who need it most instead of showering her with presents such as cakes, flowers, and balloons.

“Please don’t spend more money on me. Nakakahiya, and I feel sensitive to the needs of our fellow Filipinos. Alam ko how much food costs have gone up plus ang mahal ng flowers kasi nga Valentine season.”

“Please, unahin niyong regaluhan ang iba. Please choose who really needs your financial support now.”

Shortly after revealing her split with former Interior secretary Mel Sarmiento, Kris clarified that she is not in a critical condition and that she wasn’t in the ICU.

“Sorry to disappoint pero buhay at ilalaban pa na mapahaba ang oras ko because kuya josh & bimb still need me,” she said.

Last year, Kris revealed that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and she shares health updates on her Instagram every once in a while. —Franchesca Viernes/JAB, GMA News.
