Gina Pareño says she misses acting: ‘Sana mabigyan ako ng role’
Gina Pareño turned emotional as she expressed how much she misses acting and being on set.
In a YouTube vlog with Ogie Diaz Monday, the 75-year-old veteran actress said she stopped working when the pandemic started.
She has just been staying at home, where her children Racquel and Michael are taking care of her. Gina uttered her wish to return to the entertainment scene soon.
“Gusto kong makakita ng camera, may ilaw atsaka yung maramdaman ko na umarte ako at nakakapag communicate ako sa inyong lahat. Malungkot ako ‘pag walang gano’n,” she said.
“Gusto ko pang umarte. Kaya nga ako nagti-TikTok kasi naiilawan ako, umaarte. Nakakaloka ang hindi umarte,” she said. “Sana mabigyan ako ng role.”
Asked about what she would feel if projects stop coming, Gina said, “Alukin naman ninyo ako.
Gina said she would sometimes talk to herself when she feels sadness creeping in, but assured that she is okay. She would tell herself, “Pareño, tumigil ka. Ayan ka nanaman.”
Apart from protecting herself from the threat of COVID-19, Gina said work really did start getting scarce when the pandemic began. As such, she resorted to doing TikTok videos as Lola Gets.
She wishes to see her fans soon. She owes her career to them and hopes other artists feel the same.
Gina recently made an appearance on GMA 7’s adventure series “Lolong.” She also starred alongside Dexter Doria and Sofia Pablo in an episode of “Wish Ko Lang” in January. — LA, GMA News
